Hacia nuevos modelos de convivencia. Reflexión en torno al desafío actual del derecho de asilo

Abstract

La institución del derecho de asilo se debate entre valores jurídicos y éticos, respecto al trato que se debe dar al extranjero y la protección que corresponde a los ciudadanos de la nación que acoge para garantizar su propio interés. En este trabajo, se repasa brevemente la historia del derecho de asilo desde la antigüedad a la actualidad, para pasar a continuación a afrontar el reto educativo que tenemos obligación moral de hacer. Hay otras propuestas frente a los que quieren preservar las fronteras en aras de una seguridad nacional. Por eso se concluye que la solución no es otra que la integración de nuevos modos de convivencia desde la educación ciudadana.

The institution of the right of asylum is debated between legal and ethical values, regarding the treatment that must be given to the foreigner and the protection that corresponds to the citizens of the host nation to guarantee its own interest. In this paper, it has been briefly reviewed the history of the right of asylum from antiquity to the present, to go on to face the educational challenge that, we have moral obligation to do. There are other proposals against those who want to preserve borders for the sake of national security. Therefore it concludes that the solution is simply to integrate new ways of living together from citizenship education.
